For example, this spool -- with both a convex and concave surface -- was polished at the same time. Rough machined pieces can be improved to an optimally blended topography which facilitates high temperature fluid movement without abrasion or agglomeration, eliminating the need for diamond turning or secondary polishing and lapping. Applications include fluid movement, piping, engine components, high temperature fluid and steam transfer and items used in corrosive environments.
