Crane Cams now offers The Mikronite® Process For Increasing
Strength And Durability In Highly Stressed Steel, Aluminum And Titanium Alloy
Metals!
Crane Cams now
offers the Mikronite® process for camshafts, valve train components and other
engine components made from alloy steel, aluminum or titanium. The Mikronite® process increases strength and
durability for items such as camshafts, lifters, valve springs, retainers,
pushrods, rocker arms and rocker shafts as well as crankshafts, rods, pistons,
valves, and any engine or drivetrain component where metal-to-metal contact
friction is present!
The Mikronite® process significantly reduces the coefficient
of friction between mating surfaces, increases residual compressive stress in
metal surfaces and near-surfaces, and creates an evenly calculated pattern of
channels that promotes capillary distribution and adhesion of lubricant to
reduce friction, wear and noise. Steels
to which the Mikronite® process has been applied have shown a marked
improvement in resistance to rust caused by moisture and humidity.
It also increases “toughness” of treated metals, increases
work hardening strength and reduces or eliminates minute stress-riser cracks
and surface inclusions of metal surfaces.
The Mikronite® process was originally developed and
perfected in the optics industry and is used in aerospace, medical and cutting
tool applications. It is not a plating
or coating (although treated surfaces appear plated!), but a dry mechanical
process that can be applied to steel, aluminum, titanium, bearing steels, tool
steels, tungsten carbide, silicon nitride, brass and bronze.
The beauty that results from the application of the
Mikronite® process is not just “skin deep”.
It is proven to strengthen and increase the useful life of the component
and reduce parasitic consumption of horsepower in a wide variety of racing
engine component applications!
MIKRONITE® is a registered trademark of Mikronite
Technologies Group, Inc. The MIKRONITE® process is a patented process of Mikronite
Technologies Group, Inc.
